Call for Presentations

We’re Looking for Excellence

The 2025 Virginia Emergency Management Symposium is set to take place March 17 through March 20, 2025, in Roanoke, Virginia at Hotel Roanoke. We are looking forward to inviting our colleagues, partners, and collaborators back for another successful conference! The theme for the 2025 symposium, “Don’t Count on Luck”, is fitting in a number of ways; most significantly as a reminder of the hard work emergency managers play in preparing our Commonwealth and citizens for the ever-evolving threats we’re facing. Topic suggestions include creative planning, training, and exercises practices; integration with our military to enhance civil defense efforts; enhancing supply chain and critical infrastructure resiliency; and working closely with private sector partnerships to enhance resource management efforts.

Your colleagues are diligently working to provide an excellent symposium in 2025. With feedback from 2024, we are looking forward to providing opportunities for learning and networking! To that end, we hope you will consider submitting for an opportunity to share experiences, “lessons learned”, or best practices you and/or your team encountered this year. Please make plans to share with your partners across the Commonwealth and beyond by offering to present in 2025.

Although this invitation is being distributed to VEMA members, it is also beneficial to learn from those outside the Association and Commonwealth. You are encouraged to share this opportunity with others in your network to facilitate diverse learning and networking.

The Program Committee is currently accepting presentation proposals through 5 pm EDT, November 1, 2024. All presentation submissions are electronic; please click here to submit
