Kalahari Resort - Spotsylvania, VA March 8-11, 2027
The 2027 Virginia Emergency Management Symposium (VEMS) is set to take place March 8 – March 11, 2027, at Kalahari Resorts & Conventions in Spotsylvania County, VA. We are looking forward to inviting our colleagues, partners, and collaborators back for another successful conference! The theme for the 2027 symposium, “Virginia Forward: Exceeding Expectations for Preparedness,” recognizes the diverse experiences, knowledge, and problem-solving skills Virginia emergency management professionals leverage to overcome challenges and prepare for the ever-dynamic threat and hazard landscape.
Your colleagues are diligently working to provide an excellent symposium in 2027. With feedback from 2026, we are looking forward to providing opportunities for learning and networking! To that end, we hope you will consider submitting for an opportunity to share experiences, lesson learned, and best practices you and/or your team encountered this year. Please make plans to share with your partners across the Commonwealth and beyond by offering to present in 2027.
Although this invitation is being distributed to VEMA members, it is also beneficial to learn from those outside the Association and Commonwealth. You are encouraged to share this opportunity with others in your network to facilitate diverse learning and networking.
The Program Committee is currently accepting presentation proposals through 5:00 pm EDT, October 23, 2026. All presentation submissions are electronic; please click here to submit.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to Rachel Thompson ([email protected]) and Blake Robinson ([email protected]).
