CONFERENCE CANCELLATION POLICY: All cancellations must be submitted in writing. Written cancellations can be emailed to or mailed to VEMA, 118 North 8th Street, Richmond, VA  23219. Verbal cancellations will not be accepted. Refunds of conference registrations fees will be paid minus a $25 administration fee. Full registration fees will be charged if written cancellation is not received by close of business on Friday, March 8, 2013.

Vendor/Exhibitor Information:

We anticipate 400 plus participants this year including emergency managers, emergency responders, law enforcement officers, public safety officials, and hospital and college/university representatives. If you would like to reserve a vendor space at this event, please return the reservation form, which can be downloaded from the above linkLimited booth space is available so register early and get first choice of location in the vendor hall.

The exhibition hall will be available for set up from 12:00 – 5:00 pm on Tuesday, March 19, 2013 and 7:00 – 10:00 am March 20, 2013. We hope that you will take this opportunity to market and share your products and services to those directly involved in emergency management, public safety, and higher education fields from across the Commonwealth.

VDEM has agreed to host the two training courses based on the interest survey’s VEMA members participated in late 2012. VDEM will be offering Threat and Risk Assessment (MGT -310) and Mass Fatalities Incident Response G-386 on March 18th and 19th before this year’s Virginia Emergency Management Symposium. Below are the links to register in Knowledge Center for those that are interested in taking the courses.

VDEM’s normal quote of students per class applies. So they need at least 24 attendees for MGT-310 and no less than 15 attendees for G-386. We are very excited to be parting with VDEM on this new opportunity and we hope everyone that can will take advantage of it so we can continue to offer course before the Symposium in the future.

The discounted rate for rooms at The Homestead will be available for those that want to attend these courses as well. 


Dress Code at The Homestead - During the day, casual attire is

preferred.  Jeans and bathing suits are discouraged in The Great Hall.  In the evening, collared shirt and jacket required in the Dining Room and The 1766 Grille.  Tie optional in Dining Room.  Resort casual elsewhere.
