“Don’t Fail the Mission” Charlie O’Neil, Kentucky Emergency Management Speaking at 2011 Virginia Emergency Management Symposium.  It is a good thing we all heard that last year as we all had ample opportunity to put Charlie’s admonition to use – or not.  The 2012 Virginia Emergency Management Symposium unlike any predecessor event will focus on the most diversified types of events to have directly impacted Virginia since the establishment of professional emergency management.  Most notable, we will explore the response to Virginia’s earthquake across multiple disciplines such as power and schools.  New breakout sessions will address the Caroline County Bus Accident, Private Sector Support, and Cyberterrorism joining previously highly rated topics such as Legal Concerns for Emergency Managers and Social Media.  Don’t fail your mission and let this wealth of experienced base information get past you.  The 2012 event is designed for anyone whose professional commitment causes them to seek a greater understanding of emergencies, both natural and man-made. CONFERENCE CANCELLATION POLICY: All cancellations must be submitted in writing. Written cancellations can be emailed to executivedirector@vemaweb.org or mailed to VEMA, P.O. Box 4947, Glen Allen, VA 23058-4947. Verbal cancellations will not be accepted. Refunds of conference registrations fees will be paid minus a $25 administration fee. Full registration fees will be charged if written cancellation is not received by close of business on Friday, March 9, 2012.
